The CIC - Combat Information Center is the brain and muscle during combat operations onboard a starship.
From here the crew can view different pieces of information about the 3D Space, your weapon systems and their status, information about current hostile ships, control damage control protocols, control Airlocks, and Bulkheads to close routes for intruders or hull breaches.
Most of the Weapon systems on the ship can be remote-controlled from here, and it's usually located and the most protected part of the ship.
